Group agrees on key action items

Nov. 9, 2007:

  1. The group set a deadline of Dec. 1, 2007, to approve publishing the draft specification to industry.
  2. Determined methods for publishing to include:
    1. Always use the EAN product code (EAN/UPC)
    2. Use the term "Contents" in code strings to describe information in the product, such as song, chapter, etc.
  3. The schema describing the SOAP (XML) requests and responses should return both the UPC and EAN
  4. Agreed to make ONIX available as a code string option as well as a more simplified schema.
  5. To test User ID and passwords in the HTTP header of the SOAP messages:
    1. SSL combined with HTTP header security will be sufficient and the easiest to implement
