Group agrees on key action items
Nov. 9, 2007:
- The group set a deadline of Dec. 1, 2007, to approve publishing the draft specification to industry.
- Determined methods for publishing to include:
- Always use the EAN product code (EAN/UPC)
- Use the term "Contents" in code strings to describe information in the product, such as song, chapter, etc.
- The schema describing the SOAP (XML) requests and responses should return both the UPC and EAN
- Agreed to make ONIX available as a code string option as well as a more simplified schema.
- To test User ID and passwords in the HTTP header of the SOAP messages:
- SSL combined with HTTP header security will be sufficient and the easiest to implement
